Can You Get Mexico Homeowners Insurance During Hurricane Season?

  The answer to whether or not you can get homeowners insurance during hurricane season is pretty straightforward. Hurricane season in Mexico begins in the Middle of May and extends till the end of November. Mexico Insurance companies are not open to selling new policies, increasing limits, or making add-ons if a hurricane is imminent. The insurance industry sets a moratorium period (or binding prohibitions) of about 48 hours (about 2 days), particularly for high-risk areas, which remains in effect until 72 hours (about 3 days) after the storm has hit the location. If the hurricane watch is issued 48 hours (about 2 days) before the tropical-storm-force winds are expected to make landfall, buying a  Mexican home insurance  policy may be impossible.
